我夜間觀看，看見有一個人騎著紅馬，站在窪地上的蕃石榴樹中間;在他後面還有些紅色，栗色和白色的馬。我就問：「我主啊，這些是什麼？」那與我說話的天使對我說：「我會指示你這些是甚麼。」那站在蕃石榴樹中間的人回答：「這些就是耶和華所差遣在遍地巡邏的。」那騎士回報那站在蕃石榴樹中間的耶和華使者，說：「我們已經在遍地巡邏;看見全地都安定，一片平靜。」(撒迦利亞書，1:8-11)

(Zechariah 1:8-11) I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him were there red horses, speckled, and white. Then said I, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will show thee what these be. And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the LORD hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth. And they answered the angel of the LORD that stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth still, and is at rest.
